Q. What happens about my garbage pick-up when there is a statutory holiday?
A. Our drivers pick up on all statutory holidays except Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Q. What time is my garbage pick-up?
A. Our drivers begin their routes at 7:30 a.m. In order to streamline our routing, we ask that your containers be in place or at the curbside by 7:30 on your service day for both your garbage and Blue Box pick-up.

Q. Does RDI pick-up compost/yard waste?
A. Yes. Watch your mail box for info about our new composting program!

Q. Is there any advantage to paying for service on a yearly basis?
A. There is a discount in excess of 4% for annual pre-payment.

Q. Can I pay my RDI invoice at the bank?
A. Yes, you can pay for your RDI service at all banks and credit unions, either in person, through the ATM, your telephone or computer. If you are paying in person at the bank, the invoices are encoded along the bottom of the top portion. In addition, you can pay by cheque, cash, Interac and we also take Visa & MasterCard over the phone. If you wish, your payment can be automatically applied to your credit card shortly after the beginning of the billing quarter.

Q. When is payment on my account due?
A. Payment is due before the end of the current billing period.

Q. Does RDI provide garbage cans?
A. Yes, RDI can provide easily manageable, animal proof 32 or 64 gallon containers with wheels and lids which you can purchase or lease.

Q. How do I get rid of glass, cardboard, drywall, compost, wood, metals, plastics, cardboard and paper?
A. RDI has bins available at their depot for all the above commodities. CARDBOARD AND PAPER DROP OFF IS FREE. There is a minimal charge for some drop-off items.

Q. Where is the RDI PENINSULA DISPOSAL CENTRE AND DEPOT?
A. It is located at 6654 BUTLER CRESCENT, next to the office.

Q. Will my account be credited if I'm away on holiday?
A. If you notify the office (652-6242) before you leave on your vacation and you are going to be away for a minimum of 2 regular pick-up days, your account can be credited for the time that you are away.

Q. What happens if I want to change my service?
A. Just call the RDI office at the beginning of your billing period or make a notation on the section of your invoice that is sent in with your payment and RDI will increase or decrease your service and adjust your account accordingly. You will also be informed of any changes regarding your pick-up day or week.

Q. If I'm moving and wish to cancel service, what do I do?
A. Notify the office and if a refund is owing to you it will be cheerfully refunded after your final service day. Should you have any further questions in regard to residential service on the Saanich Peninsula, give a call to the friendly staff at RDI 652-6242
